Meet the Chicago-ish Dog

Our Sweet Diamond Dog is the star of the show β€” a premium hot dog with bold flavor that stands up to any topping you throw at it. This week, we're going all in with a house-made hot pepper relish that brings the heat and a Brown Sugar Mustard that balances it perfectly.


🌢️ The Hot Pepper Relish Recipe

This relish is the real showstopper. Make a batch ahead of time β€” it keeps well and is incredible on everything.

Ingredients:

  • Β½ pound hot green peppers (jalapeΓ±os or serranos), stemmed β€” remove seeds for a milder relish
  • Β½ pound hot red peppers (fresnos or cherry peppers), stemmed β€” remove seeds for a milder relish
  • Β½ pound yellow onions, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon curry
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • Β½ cup cider vinegar
  • ΒΌ cup white sugar

Directions:

  1. Pulse the peppers and onions in a food processor until finely chopped (don't over-process β€” you want texture).
  2. Transfer to a saucepan and add the salt, curry, granulated garlic, crushed red pepper, cider vinegar, and sugar.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce and simmer for 20–25 minutes until thickened.
  4. Let cool completely before using. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
